NYON, NETRALNEWS.COM - Manchester United will face Spanish representative Celta Vigo, and French-based Olympique Lyonnais will square off against Dutch representative Ajax Amsterdam in the Europa League semi-finals of 2016-2017. That is the result of the semi-final draw held by UEFA at its headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, Friday (4/21) afternoon.
The draw was led by UEFA Deputy Secretary General Giorgio Marchetti, who was accompanied by the 2017 Europa League Final Ambassador, former Bayern Munich and Swedish football star Patrick Anderson.
The first ball taken by Anderson is Ajax who will host the first leg. The second ball appears Olympique Lyonnais. Then, the third ball Celta Vigo. Thus ensured MU to host the second leg.
To note, the first leg will be held on May 4 and the second leg held a week later (May 11). The final will be played at Friends Arena, Solna, Sweden, on May 24, where the winner between Ajax and Lyon will act as the "host" or wear the first costume.
