MOTEGI, NNC - Maverick Vinales hopes his motorbike can present good performance at Motegi, like when he made it to the podium at the Thailand MotoGP last week.
Vinales finished third at the Buriram Circuit in the Thailand MotoGP last week. That achievement also ended the series of Yamaha negative results in the last five races.
"At Buriram, it seemed like riding a ‘normal’ Yamaha. Let's see if we can do it again for the next one in Japan," he said as quoted by Crash, Wednesday (10/17/2018).
However, Vinales still feels that the bike needs more improvement, especially for the balance factor. In an opportunity after the race in Thailand, Vinales had a chance to speak with Yamaha officials to install ballast on the back of his motorbike.
"I want to know whether the change in balance on the motorbike can help in Japan. I believe that it was the change that helped in Buriram, but the rear tire was also different," he explained.
Furthermore, MotoGP will be held in Japan at the Motegi Circuit on October 21. There, Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez has the opportunity to lock up his title.
