MOSCOW, NNC – Despite reaching the semifinals at the prestigious 2018 World Cup, the English national team is has not considered themselves successful. England is still hungry for the title.
The statement was delivered by England midfielder Eric Dier. The Tottenham Hotspur club's players want his country to continue to the end.
England will face the Croatian national team in the semi-finals which will take place at Luzhniki Stadium on Thursday (7/12/2018) early morning GMT.
"I think we have not succeeded - success is difficult to define but in my eyes and I think for others, I think we haven’t made it," Dier told reporters after a team training session.
The players have seen videos of fans who wildly celebrating their victory in the quarter-finals against Sweden and understand the atmosphere in England. But Dier said that their eyes are still currently on the tough task of winning the next game.
"We are still hungry for more victories and we want to go further, hopefully we can show them all on Wednesday. After the game against Sweden we give our full attention for Wednesday, we are as focused as before in that game, there was no satisfaction, no talk of anything other than for the match on Wednesday,” he said, as quoted by Antara.
