MADRID, NNC - Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui will coach Real Madrid with a three-year contract after the World Cup. It was announced by El Real on Tuesday (6/12/2018).
Two weeks earlier, Zinedine Zidane officially resigned as coach of El Real. The Frenchman's resignation was quite surprising as it was announced a few days after leading Real to the Champions League for the third time in a row.
Lopetegui, who last month signed a new contract until 2020 with Spain, spent three years with Real as a player.
The 51-year-old took over the position of coach of Spain in 2016, following the resignation of Vicente Del Bosque who led his country to win the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 Euro.
