JEREZ, NNC – Ducati rider Jorge Lorenzo was deeply disappointed by the failure to reach the finish line at the Spanish MotoGP race. Lorenzo who admitted to causing the accident that hindered him and other riders to cross the finish line apologized to his teammate, Andrea Dovizioso.
The accident between three riders, Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Dovizioso, and Dani Pedrosa occurred during the race at the Circuit Jerez, Spain, Sunday (5/6/2018).
At the race, Lorenzo was leading from the start and was in front for quite a long time when then he crashed with Marc Marquez and then Dovizioso.
But Lorenzo's performance ended when he was involved in a triangular accident with Dovi and Pedrosa.Trying to take back the second position after being overtaken by Dovi, Lorenzo brushed with Pedrosa in the sixth corner. From that moment Lorenzo lost his balance and hit Dovi. The three of them were unable to continue the race.
"I'm very disappointed with the accident, especially because it involves the three most fair riders in this championship and for that reason, I do not want to talk about the details of the incident," said Lorenzo quoted from Crash.
"To be sure, we were very unlucky and that was a normal crash in the race: Pedrosa came in very quickly, but I think we cannot blame anyone except just bad luck and I trully apologize to Dovi and Ducati too," Lorenzo said.
