LONDON, NNC –Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is disappointed with his team's defeat against Manchester City in the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino said Manchester City was successful in defeating Tottenham Hotspur because his players did not play as he wished.
In the game at home at Wembley on Sunday (4/15/2018), Tottenham lost 1-3. Tottenham defense line was penetrated easily by City’s front row.
Tottenham goalkeeper, escorted by Hugo Lloris, collapsed in the 22nd minute. Gabriel Jesus listed his name on the scoreboard, following then by a goal from Ilkay Guendogan from the white spot in the 25th minute.
Tottenham had time to reply once through Christian Eriksen but City locked victory through Raheem Sterling goal in the second half.
"We just started playing after we conceded a second goal - it really disappointed us," Pochettino told Sky Sports.
"City played well from the start and was more aggressive than us."
"After that, we started controlling the game, we scored a goal through Christian, and in the second half we started very well."
"It was the way we wanted to play, but in the first 25 minutes it was not the way we should have played or how we prepared it," said the Argentinean manager.
