MADRID, NNC – Real Madrid was so craved to be able to land Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star, Neymar. But, Madrid cannot simply bring in the former Barcelona player.
Although Neymar was reportedly ready to join Real Madrid, the Brazilian player reportedly asked for some conditions to the President of Madrid Florentino Perez.
Since the opening of the winter transfer market in 2018, rumors about Neymar landing to Real Madrid sounded harder. A number of media in the Spain even mentioned the president of Madrid has met Neymar party to discuss the transfer.
But, as reported by Don Balon, Neymar has given the green light to the management of Madrid by giving some conditions. Neymar only wants to move to Madrid if a number of El Real star players, especially Cristiano Ronaldo, have left the Santiago Bernabeu.
Neymar does not want to share the status of major star players with other players.
Not only Ronaldo, Neymar also asked Perez to sell Wales winger Gareth Bale. In addition, Neymar does not want to be trained by Zinedine Zidane in Madrid.
Neymar desire will likely be obeyed Madrid. The reason, Ronaldo is not young anymore and will not benefit business-wise as well as performance on the pitch in the next few years.
Ronaldo can be offered to PSG as one of the 'bait' to acquire Neymar. Meanwhile Bale in the last year was widely rumored to be demanded by Premier League giant, Manchester United.
Especially for Zidane, the French coach was almost certainly kicked by Madrid management after they slumped in La Liga with 16 points behind Barcelona.
Madrid now just needs to make sure PSG wants to release Neymar, and it's not an easy task. Because, Neymar has become an important part in the PSG, both in terms of business and team performance. Until the half of this season Neymar has scored 20 goals and 14 assists with PSG.
