MADRID, NNC – Surprise. Real Madrid have reportedly negotiated with German national team coach Joachim Loew to replace Zinedine Zidane.
As reported by Sport, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly met directly with Joachim Loew.
The issue of Zinedine Zidane's dismissal has lately been widely talked about in Spain because Zidane failed to push Madrid to appear consistent this season. The team is 16 points behind Barcelona at the top of La Liga standings.
Some of the world's top coaches have recently been linked with Madrid, from Juergen Klopp, Antonio Conte, to Mauricio Pochettino. However, Sport.es reported that Perez has negotiated with Loew. Loew successfully won the 2014 World Cup with the German national team.
"Real Madrid have been in contact with Loew and the talks are going well and the club directors are optimistic Loew will accept the coaching offer at the Santiago Bernabeu," the Sport media said
However, it seems like negotiations between Madrid and Loew did not go very well because Loew is still under contract with the German Football Association (DFB) until 2020. In addition, Loew is focused on the German national team to face the 2018 World Cup.
The interesting fact of Zidane's dismissal rumors is that all of the other coaches linked to Madrid are currently under contracts with other teams.
