JAKARTA, NNC - A total of nine private companies disburse funds of $57 million or approximately IDR760 billion to sponsor the 2018 Asian Games sports event.
The funding agreement was signed by representatives from the nine companies and INASGOC Chairman Erick Thohir, witnessed by Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Sports and Youth Minister Imam Nahrawi at the Vice President's Office in Jakarta on Wednesday (12/6/2017).
Vice President Jusuf Kalla welcomed the commitment of the private sector in supporting the sporting event.
"I thank all the brothers who are committed to the success of the Asian Games," said the Vice President.
INASGOC Chairman Erick Thohir said the funding from the private sector shows the company's confidence in the national economy.
"The targets that we want to achieve in the Asian Games to be 'branding' of Indonesia in the international front and bring economic impacts and investments in the future," said Erick.
Companies that provide funding commitments are Grab Indonesia, PT Astra International, PT Amerta Otsuka Indah, SsangYong Information Communication, PT Indofood Sukses Makmur, Aqua, Samsung Indonesia, PT Sinarmas APP and Alfamart.
Erick further said INASGOC remains open for sponsorship until the implementation of the Asian Games.
"I expect those who want to work with contact us directly. We will support and we will continue to look for sponsors because the more the better," Erick said as quoted by Antara.
