BATAM, NETRALNEWS.COM – Surabaya Bhayangkara Samator men's team becomes the winner of the first round of 2017 Proliga. Samator locks the title following its victory over Batam Sindo BVN.
In the third series competition that was held at the Temenggong Abdul Jamal Sports Stadium of Batam, Sunday (2/12/2017), Samator won over Batam Sindo BVN with a score of 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 25-17, 25- 23).
"In the second and fourth set our players did a lot of own errors. Our services, receives created opponent’s points. I counted we lost 14 points in the second set," said Samator’s coach Ibarsjah Djanu Tjahyono as quoted by Antara.
This result made Samator the only men's team that always wins in five games during the first round of 2017 Proliga. As of the third series in Batam, Samator collected the highest points, amounting to 14 points, and was entitled to a prize of IDR15 million.
Jakarta Pertamina Energi placed the second place in the men's team standings with 12 points, followed by Palembang Bank SumselBabel (8), Jakarta BNI Taplus (5), Jakarta Elektrik PLN (5) and Batam Sindo BVN (1).
The second round of 2017 Proliga will commence at Tri Dharma Sports Stadium of Gresik by March 3-5, 2017. (*)
