LIVERPOOL, NETRALNEWS.COM – The English Football Association (FA) has confirmed that the three-match suspension handed to Liverpool forward Sadio Mane remains in effect.
On Monday (9/11/2017), news emerged that said the Reds will file an appeal against the duration of Mane suspension. In a sense, Liverpool's appeal is not to question the red card he received in the match against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Saturday (09/09/2017) , but to question the length of the suspension.
As it is known, Mane received a straight red card from referee Jon Moss after catching Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson with a high foot that caused facial injuries to the goalkeeper.
The decision of the referee attracted controversy. Liverpool manager, Juergen Klopp, claims that other than himself, City manager Pep Guardiola also judged that the red card was too much. Severla football observers also shared similar opinions.
Now, as reported by ESPN, after holding a hearing on Tuesday (0/12/2017) afternoon, the Independent Regulatory Commission rejected the appeal of Liverpool.
