JAKARTA, NNC - After its recent launch in Italy, France, and Spain, Xiaomi now shifts its focus to UK by making its debut on Thursday, Nov 8.
According to Phone Arena on Friday, in the launch, the Chinese brand confirmed that its first store will open in central London on November 19.
The store will sell various phones and accessories including Mi Band 3 fitness tracker retailed at 27 poundsterling (around IDR516,000), Mi Electric Scooter at 399 poundsterling (around IDR7.6 million), and Xiaomi's budget phones, Redmi 6A, offered at 99 poundsterling (around IDR1.9 million).
However, the most exciting announcement was the presence of Xiaomi's flagship phone, the Mi 8 Pro.
The device was launched in September exclusive for its home country, with the promise of global availability in the future.
Now, Xiaomi has confirmed that the device will be available for purchase at 499 poundsterling (around IDR9.5 million) in the UK, making it a rival to the OnePlus 6T.
The Mi 8 Pro sport a 6.2 inch OLED display and powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, and runs Android 8.1 Oreo.
It will be available in the UK starting November 9. Purchase can be done via local provider, Three, and several retailers including Amazon, Argos, Carphone Warehouse, and John Lewis, citing Antara.
