Mitsubishi New Triton/L200 makes World Debut in Thailand

BANGKOK, NNCMitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced its world debut from the New Triton/L200, a one-ton pickup truck model, in Bangkok, Thailand, and will begin sales in Thailand on November 17.

The New Triton/L200 is the latest version of the model that celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and is produced at the assembly center of the Laem Chabang Plant operated by Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co. Ltd. (MMTh), a manufacturer and distributor of MMC products in Thailand.

The vehicle is a global strategic model, which will also be launched in other ASEAN markets including Oceania, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Latin America. Its planned to be marketed in 150 countries around the world.

At this world debut event, Mitsubishi Motors CEO Osamu Masuko, revealed that the New Triton/L200 is one of the most important global strategic model and its success will significantly boost the company's sustainable growth momentum.

The new model features better durability, reliability and comfort that have been developed for more than 40 years since it was first introduced.

"I am very confident that New Triton/L200 will be able to meet the needs and desires of our customers around the world," Osamu Masuko said Friday, Nov 9.

Launch Plan

Following the start of sales in Thailand on November 17, the TRITON/L200 is scheduled to be launched sequentially in ASEAN, Oceania, Middle East, Europe, Africa and Latin America, which will eventually be marketed to around 150 countries around the world.

MMC plans to sell around 180,000 units of the TRITON/L200 in this fiscal year. Its the global strategic core model and is the second best-sellng product of MMC, following its mid-size SUV model Outlander in the MMC rankings last year.
