JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The trial for a case against the former Chairman of Association of Indonesian Film Artists (PARFI), Gatot Brajamusti, was scheduled to take place today, Tuesday (11/14/2017). However, the trial had to be postponed.
The trial was postponed because Gatot could not attend the trial due to an illness. The agenda in the trial was the case of endangered species and illegal firearms possession.
The news of Gatot being ill was delivered by the prosecutor Hadiman at the South Jakarta District Court. Hadiman then presented a doctor's letter containing information of the defendant's illness to the Panel of Judges.
After checking the authenticity of the doctor's letter, the Panel of Judges decided that the trial could not proceed. "Because the defendant cannot be brought to trial, so the trial is postponed," said the Chief Judge.
The Panel of Judges granted Gatot a week-long rest period. The trial will be held again on November 21, 2017 with the same agenda.
