President Jokowi heads to Singapore for ASEAN Summit

JAKARTA NNC - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and first lady Iriana Joko Widodo heads to Singapore Tuesday morning, Nov 13, for a work visit .

Jokowi and his entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, at 10:00 a.m. local time with Indonesia-1 presidential aircraft.

During his stay in Singapore, Jokowi will attend the 33rd ASEAN Summit on November 13-15 to finalize the process of developing the Indo-Pacific collaboration.

As the ASEAN-Russia coordinator, president Jokowi is planned to deliver a statement from ASEAN in the ASEAN-Russia meeting. Under Indonesia's coordination, the ASEAN-Russia cooperation has become a strategic partnership.

On the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit, the Jokowi is also scheduled to attend several bilateral meetings.

After the ASEAN Summit, Jokowi will head to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to attend the 26th APEC Summit on November 17-18.

At the APEC Summit dubbed 'Harnessing Inclusive Opportunities Embracing Digital Future', Indonesia will put forward the use of digital technology for inclusive development.

In Port Moresby, the Jokowi is also scheduled to attend a bilateral meeting and dialogue with 12 leaders of Pacific island countries to discuss maritime collaboration and mitigate climate change.

President Jokowi's entourage to Singapore includes; Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Minister of State Pratikno, Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, President's Military Secretary Maj.Gen Trisno Hendradi, Head of Protocol Andri Hadi, President's Personal Secretary Anggit Noegroho, Secret Service Commander Maj.Gen Suhartono, and Presidential Special Staff Adita Irawati.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi had first arrive in Singapore to attend a ministerial meeting and prepare for president Jokowi's arrival.
