JAKARTA, NNC -- For the first time, NASA said it found definitive evidence related to water, or more specifically ice water, on the surface of the moon.
It is located in the darkest and coldest part of the moon's polar region. While in the North Pole the ice water is very rare, but wide, and spread. Most of the South Pole, ice water is in the moon crater.
Newsy reported, scientists said they found ice deposits using data from NASA's Moon Mineralogy Mapper. Deposits and that these ice deposits may be ancient.
NASA says finding out more about ice, how it got there and how it interacts with the larger moon environment will be part of future missions.
