Anwar Ibrahim Officially Free

Chairman of the People's Justice Party (PKR) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Wednesday (5/16/2018), is officially free.

KUALA LUMPUR, NNC - Chairman of the People's Justice Party (PKR) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Wednesday (5/16/2018), is officially free of prison sentence that he lived for five years in Sungai Buloh Prison.

Anwar Ibrahim left the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital, where he has been undergoing treatment at 11:30 am local time, without giving any statements to the dozens of national and international media that have been waiting for him.

Dozens of policemen and prison officers escorted Anwar from the hospital. Dozens of photographers chased after Anwar who had entered the hospital until the exit gate of the hospital.

Anwar accompanied by his wife Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail then headed to the State Palace to meet His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan XV Sultan Muhammad V.

Earlier, the newly inaugurated Selangor Minister from the PKR Datuk Azmin Ali was seen at the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital carrying a letter of forgiveness from agong or king given to Anwar Ibrahim.

PKR Communication Director Fahmi Fadzil said Anwar Ibrahim was scheduled to hold a press conference at his residence in Segambut at 4 pm to 4:30 pm local time.

"Anwar Ibrahim will perform tarawih prayer at his house before attending a rally in Padang Timur, Wednesday night," he said, quoted Antara.

Datuk Pengelola Bangsawan Diraja Dato' Wan Ahmad Dahlan B Hj AB Aziz through a press release said the full pardon to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was given at the 51st Meeting of the Pardon Boards Committee for the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya on May 16, 2018.
