US Attacks Syria, Russia Submits UN Resolution

US Troops in Syria

NEW YORK, NNC -- Russia reportedly filed a draft of UN Security Council resolution to condemn the attacks made by the United States and its allies against the Syrian Arab Republic in violation of international law and the UN Charter.

However, until now there has been no clarity about when the vote on the draft resolution will be done.

Quoted from Antara, the draft does not seem to meet the minimum nine votes requirement needed to suppress veto by the United States, France or Britain, diplomats say.

To be endorsed, the resolution requires at least nine votes of support and is not subject to veto (rejection) from Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom or the United States.
