Afghan Security Forces Kills Eight ISIS Fighters

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN, NETRALNEWS.COM - Afghan Government security forces took down an attack from ISIS fighters in the mountainous area of Kunar province on Saturday night (10/14/2017).

"Government forces killed eight ISIS fighters and wounded four more, the Afghan Ministry of Home Affairs said on Sunday (10/15).

"A group of ISIS fighters attacked several security checkpoints in the Shagi Region in the Capital of Kunar Province, Asadabad, last night," the ministry said in a statement.

The statement added that security forces also found and seized weapons and ammunition after the clash.

During the clash, two policemen were also wounded but no civilians were affected, the statement said.

Asadabad as the capital of Kunar, located 185 kilometers east of the Afghan’s capital Kabul, and is among the provinces where ISIS fighters are active.
