JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) stated that the dissolution of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) through a presidential decision is currently being processed.
"[It] is being processed, perhaps nearly over the week the prosecutor's office is active in discussing the process of HTI handling," said Attorney General HM Prasetyo in Jakarta, Friday (05/19/2017).
He said until now there is a coordination meeting to discuss the most appropriate step to take to address HTI.
"So just wait for what is the government's decision," he said.
He added that there are several options to dissolve HTI: it can be through presidential decision or government regulation in lieu of law.
"The AGO is still committed to any time want to maintain the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia [NKRI] which is united, unshakeable and unchangeable with other philosophy that is not in accordance with our own understanding. We have Pancasila, Unity in Diversity [Bhineka Tunggal Ika]," he said.
Previously, the AGO waited for evidences of the dissolution of the Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia from the government to be appealed next to the court. "The evidence is being collected. We accept the evidence first, we will examine again, scrutinize again for the basis of filing a lawsuit," said Attorney General in Jakarta, Friday.
He explained that the basis for dissolving HTI should not be necessarily physical, but also ideological or views that have an obsession to apply the khilafah system.
"Yes, khilafah is not in accordance with what our nation holds, we have the ideology of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila," he said. (*)
