Maruar Sirait: Jokowi-JK’s Relationship is Still Solid

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM – Maruar Sirait, Central Representative Chairman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), has ensured that the relationship of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) is fine. There is no competition between two, and they respect each other.

The statement was made following the spreading of news about the relationship of President Joko Widodo with his deputy Jusuf Kalla had turned sour after the Jakarta gubernatorial elections. It was said that Jusuf Kalla was behind the victory of Anies Baswedan-Sandi Uno.

"They are a very good mixture since the presidential election was held, the couple are elected by the people, and constitutionally. Both are also good and complementary combinations with each other. I often communicate with Mr. Jokowi and Mr. Jusuf Kalla," Maruarar Sirait told reporters in Jakarta recently.

According to the PDI-P politician, who is familiarly called Bang Ara, Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla both understand each other's position.

After the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election race, there were views that President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla were not in line. Especially when JK called to contribute in proposing nomination Anies Baswedan to Gerindra General Chairperson, Prabowo Subianto.
