Social Minister on Receiving 50 Tons of Dates from King Salman

JAKARATA, NETRALNEWS.COM – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Donation Foundation is giving 50 tons of dates through the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Social Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa received a donation of dates from the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia Osama bin Muhammad Al-Shuaibi, ahead of the coming of the holy month of Ramadan.

Minister Khofifah received a white box containing dates in the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia; the box is a symbol of help from the Saudi Arabian Kingdom through the Donation Foundation of King Salman, for the people of Indonesia in the form of 50 tons of dates.

"The total temporary help is 200 tons of dates and God willing will be given through the Ministry of Social amounting to 50 tons," said Social Minister, in a press release, Wednesday (05/03/2017).

Khofifah explained that the ministry will distribute the aid to a number of parties in need, including the poor and orphanages that exist in the networks of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"According to the information, tomorrow God willing will be sent. We will place the aid at one point in the warehouse of the Ministry of Social Affairs office as soon as possible, before the month of Ramadan. When the dates have come, we will distribute it to the poor and orphanage," Minister Khofifah explained.

Khofifah added that the rests of donated dates will be distributed to several Islamic organizations in Indonesia such as Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah, as well as some other areas in need, by the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. (*)
