JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM – The Indonesia Police continues to work on the case of acid attack on Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator, Novel Baswedan. The police have examined 16 witnesses in relation to this case.

Police Brigadier General Rikwanto, Head of Public Information Bureau at the Indonesia Police, said the 16 witnesses that have been examined included witnesses who were in the crime scene, including security guards.

"We have also conducted repeated examination of the crime scene," Rikwanto said at Indonesia Police Headquarters on Friday (21/4).

"Witnesses such as security guards, people in the mosque shouting for help, people alleged to have seen the event, and other witnesses, to date, all witness statements are being explored," he continued.

According to Rikwanto, in the investigation, even small findings will be developed, including the identification of the motorcycle used in the acid attack, who owns it, when was it lent or used and so on.

In addition to examining witnesses, said Rikwanto, the police are also reviewing the video in CCTV. "Still in the study, the CCTV is mounted towards a certain angle, and the image also depends on the direction, the weather, and the day or night conditions, but the analysis is still underway," he said.

When asked the target to find the culprit, he was reluctant to comment further. Nevertheless, the police will continue to work as soon as possible in finding the perpetrators of acid attack on Novel.

"We do not set a target, we will try to do that as soon as possible," he added.
