JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Wiranto emphasizes that the biggest threat of the Indonesian nation does not come from outside, but from within the country.

Wiranto said this statement during Cap Go Meh (15th day of the first month in Lunar Year Calendar) celebration held by Joint Forum of Chinese Indonesia (FBIT) in the framework of Lunar New Year 2568 of the Year 2017, in Hall D2 Area of JIEXPO Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday (3/19/2017) evening.

"Drug crimes, terrorism, radicalism, corruption, illegal logging, illegal fishing and so on, it's there and visible. But the danger is disunity of the nation itself," said Coordinating Minister Wiranto.

He added therefore the community is expected to be able to neutralize the threat by knitting togetherness as a nation, among others, by re-building tolerance.

"The Indonesian nation is a nation whose greatest population is Muslim, but when the nation was founded, we did not impose as an Islamic country because there is tolerance, where there are various ethnicities, religions and races. Therefore, let us maintain unity and build tolerance and togetherness," urged Wiranto.

Wiranto, who is also the founder of People's Conscience Party (Hanura), said the theme of Cap Go Meh sported now is very appropriate to address the disparity and create prosperity. He advised Chinese community to keep thinking of how to keep disparity from getting too wide, to create justice, and to partake in building prosperity.

"More importantly, how to create equitable welfare," he added.

He explained President Joko Widodo always reminded the gap should not be too wide. Now, the ratio is good enough from the initial figure of 0.40 to 0.39. He added the government has issued a smart card, health card, building on the outskirts as an effort to build prosperity, as stated in the Nawacita (Nine Priorities) Programs by President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla to date.

"But do not let the government works by its own, the community must help. I invite the Chinese community to participate in helping the government to address gaps, create justice and prosperity," said he again. (*)
