BANDUNG, NNC - The West Java Regional Police will deploy some 18,000 personnels to secure New Year's eve.

West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Agung Budi Maryoto says the Lilin Lodaya 2018 operation will involve 18,000 personnels.

Agung says the number does not include aids from other agencies including the armed forces and local government officials totaling 23,400 personnels.

Those personnels will be deployed in crowded places such as tourist attractions, hotels, shopping centers, airports, sanctuaries, and community areas.
