Indonesialeaks Reported to Police on Charge of False Complaints to Authorities

JAKARTA, NNC - Indonesialeaks was reported to the Jakarta Metro Police on October 23, 2018. Indonesialeaks was reported to the police on charge of false complaints to the authorities.

The Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Department Head confirmed the report. "Yes, it is true it has been reported," said the Head of Public Relations Dept. of Jakarta Metro Police Senior Commissioner Argo Yuwono, Wednesday (10/31/2018).

Based on the data gathered, the report was made by the Office of Advocacy and Legal Investigation Elvan Games and Partners. In the report numbered LP/5758/X/2018/PMJ/Dit. Reskrimum dated October 23, 2018, reported party was Abdul Manan who was known to be an Indonesialeaks initiator.

Abdul is charged of Article 317 of the Criminal Code concerning False Complaints to the Rulers in the report. Argo added his party would investigate the report to find out whether it fulfilled the criminal element or not.

"If there is no criminal element, the investigation will be stopped," he added.

The name Indonesialeaks surfaced when it published a report about a 'red book' which revealed allegation of bribery to National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian.

The report told the destruction of the red-bound book by two former investigators of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) from the National Police Institution, and what they damaged was related to evidence that Tito was suspected of being involved in meat import graft.
