Bawaslu to Monitor Campaign Fund Donations to Poltiical Parties (special)
JAKARTA, NNC - The Indonesia Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) plans to cooperate with the Indonesia Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK) in relation to money politics during the 2019 Presidential Election campaign period.
The cooperation between the two institutions is to oversee the campaign funds from political parties who are participating in the 2019 election.
Moch. Afifudin, member of Bawaslu, said the supervision is carried out regarding cash and non-cash transactions. And because of that, according to Afifudin, campaign fund contributions from political parties are divided into two, namely large and small donations.
The issue of campaign fund donations from these political parties will then be traced to its supervision by Bawaslu.
"But for sure, for example, the party's campaign finance report is very large, but there are also small ones. The amount of donations is about what is clear. If it's clear then where does it come from?" he said.
Thus, according to him, supervision is carried out on the origins of campaign fund donations by political parties, both large and small.
"So, actually we monitor the nature of this campaign fund report and we will also monitor the small ones, especially where the money came from."
