JAKARTA, NNC -- The National Awakening Party (PKB) Central Executive Board (DPP) believes that if the Nahdlatul Ulama family is united, the victory of presidential and vice presidential candidates Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin in the 2019 presidential election is in sight.
"I am sure that if all NU families unite to win Jokowi-Kiai Ma'ruf, then the victory is in sight," said Chairman of PKB DPP Jazilul Fawaid, at the PKB DPP, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (9/26/2018).
That, he continued, is because quantitatively the number of NU members or organizations associated with NU is very large.
"So we are happy that the results of the social gathering between Kiai Ma'ruf and the family of Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur have resulted in the unification of all NU families," he said again.
The gathering conducted by Kiai Ma'ruf aims to bring together the NU family to jointly succeed the candidate pair number one Jokowi-Ma'ruf.
"We hope that the elderly's social visit to Ms. Yenny will provide support for Rais Aam PBNU [NU Executive Board General Chairman] who is now a vice presidential candidate," Jazilul said.
According to him, the presence of Kiai Ma'ruf to Sis Yenny was done culturally, not structurally, so that it was not a problem if the elderly stayed in touch with the younger ones.
"Social visit does not recognize the structure from the old to the young or vice versa. The value is the same, which is to strengthen brotherly bond," he said again.
Previously, the family of the Fourth President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid or commonly called Gus Dur expressed their political support for candidate pair number one Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin in the 2019 presidential election.
The declaration of support was read by Gus Dur's second daughter, Yenny Wahid, at the Gus Dur Political Movement House, Kalibata, South Jakarta, Wednesday.
Yenny ensured that this support was a political attitude from Gus Dur's family.
Nevertheless, she stressed that her mother, Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, would take neutral stance in the 2019 presidential election.
"I represent Gus Dur family's political position. The political stance has been mandated to me," she said, as reported by Antara.
