"At that time, the two victims were standing on the shoulder of the road on direction of Jakarta to Cirebon towing a vehicle breaking down," said Asep.
Accidents occurred allegedly due to a sleepy driver. At that time, a Chevrolet minibus with registered police number B 1192 EVC coming from the direction of Jakarta to Cirebon. When arrived at KM 126,200, Chevrolet driven by Abdullah (21), a student from Cimanggis, Depok City, hit the victim.
"Because the driver was supposedly sleepy, the vehicle's speed finally shifted to the left," Asep related.
At the same time, on the shoulder of the road there were two Cipali toll officers, i.e., a crane officer and a patrolman attempting to tow a breaking-down car. The Chevrolet immediately hit both officers to death.
Meanwhile, General Manager Operations (GMO) of PT LMS as the manager of Cipali toll road, Suyitno, explained the same thing. He said the two victims were in charge of towing a faulty car. "Actually they were almost finished, but from behind suddenly there was a car, whose driver was suspected sleepy and immediately hit both officers," said Suyitno.
To anticipate similar incident from happening again, Suyitno appealed for travelers to prepare vehicles and physical health before traveling. He said of several accidents that have happened, the cause is the driver being sleepy.
