JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara is not your regular doctor. He is a Japanese national asset! Born in 1911, he turns 106 this year.

He may be the oldest and longest doctor and educator in the world. Dr. Hinohara has published more than 150 books, one of which was a best-seller "Living Long, Living Good" which sold over 1.2 million copies.

Following is refreshing protocol from Dr. Hinohara with regard to long life and happy, which is different from general healthy lifestyle guides.

He said the energy comes mainly from a good feeling. Children often have fun forgetting to eat or sleep. "We should imitate children, reducing rules such as mealtime and bedtime. Have more fun!" says Dr. Hinohara, as reported in his book ‘Living Long, Living Good’, Tuesday (2/21/2017).

He also urged not to get overweight. People who are long-lived are not overweight. Dr. Hinohara is careful with his food. For breakfast, he drinks coffee and milk, orange juice and one tablespoon of olive oil.

Dr. Hinohara believes olive is great for the arteries and skin health. For lunch he drinks milk with some cookies or not at all if he is very busy. For dinner, he chooses vegetables, fish and rice. Twice a week, he 'rewards' him with 100g of meat.

Also he urged to always plan ahead. Dr. Hinohara always makes schedule for one year, with lectures, work in hospitals and meetings. He likes to entertain himself and plans to attend the Tokyo Olympics in 2020!

Another way, you do not have to retire. If you want to retire, do it at older age, not at age 65. Share what you know.

Dr. Hinohara gives 150 lectures a year, some even for children of primary school and the business community. He gives a lecture while standing up to 90 minutes. He believes standing makes him strong.

In his book he mentioned not to believe everything your doctor recommended. Doctors cannot cure everyone. "Try asking whether your doctor will advise his loved ones through the procedure he recommends to you. Why should it cause pain and unnecessary suffering for patients?"
