BMKG Issues Tsunami Warning from Earthquake of 6.5 Magnitude South of Tasikmalaya (usgs)

JAKARTA, NNC - An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale (SR) has occurred south of Tasikmalaya, West Java. The Indonesia Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a tsunami warning for the south coast of West Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta.

The impact, casualties, and damages from the earthquake are not yet known.

The earthquake is also felt by residents living in Jakarta, Central Java, and East Java.
