JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Chairman of Islam Damai Aman or Safe Peaceful Islam (Idaman) Party, Rhoma Irama said General Elections Commission (KPU) have treated his party in an unjustly manner in the process of registration.
He stated the sentiment when he reported General Elections Commission (KPU) to Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu), Monday (10/23/2017) on alleged violation of administrative process of initial election phase.
"Election must be fair and just. So, treat us accordingly,” said Rhoma.
Rhoma said the Idaman Party encountered difficulty several times in filling into the political party information system (sipol) because Sipol often experience technical glitches. However this was not tolerated by the KPU.
On the other hand, he said, after Sipol was opened to the public, it could be seen that there were some parties that did not fill in the Sipol but still have their registration considered complete by KPU.
KPU previously rejected the registration of 13 political parties as participants of the 2019 General Election due to the incomplete documents.
KPU Commissioner Viryan Aziz said political parties that failed to submit complete documents are not allowed to proceed to the next stage as regulated in KPU Regulation No. 11 of 2017.
