JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Fadli Zon said the efforts to eradicate corruption should not only be handled by one institution so that he supports the establishment of Special Detachment of Anti-Corruption (Densus Tipikor) of National Police Headquarters.
"Principally supporting law enforcement and corruption problem should not be solved by one institution, so it should involve the Police, Attorney General and KPK [Corruption Eradication Commission]," Fadli said at Nusantara III Building, Jakarta, Thursday (10/12/2107).
He supported the National Police to enforce the law, including the eradication of corruption, but related to the budget proposed for the Anti-Corruption Special Detachment valued at IDR2.6 trillion, it is the affairs of House Commission III as partners.
The Gerindra Party politician assessed for the work of Anti-Corruption Special Detachment not to overlap then there must be coordination done among law enforcers in handling corruption cases.
"There has been coordination among them and it is actually the main task of the Police and the Attorney General," he said.
In addition, related to the Attorney General who is reluctant to join the Anti-Corruption Special Detachment, Fadli assessed each institution has the capacity and authority to eradicate corruption so that it only needs coordination for work not to overlap and there should be no impression of competition in eradicating corruption.
"The eradication of corruption is not only an act, but prevention so that the handling must be systematic in order to reduce corruption because of its nature what is being built is for people to be difficult to commit corruption," he said.
