BOGOR, NETRALNEWS.COM – Bogor Mayor Bima Arya’s visit to Leiden in order to search the old archives of Bogor has started to fruition as s the meeting – between Bima with the Director of the Museum Van Wereldculturen, and Curator Insular Southeast Asia, Francine Brinkgreve - on Wednesday (9/13/2017) has came with result.
The Museum even at the meeting promised to send some old Bogor photo files in high resolutions to the city government of Bogor. Some of the photographs are Paledang Pavilion in 1906, the bridge across the Cisadane River in 1908, Empang Mosque in 1890, Mantarena in 1900, and IPB Baranangsiang campus area in 1940.
"We are quite grateful and surprise because the Museum responsed so fast and very simple bureaucracy in accessing old photos of Bogor," Bima said, Monday (9/18/2017).
In addition, Dr. Francine invited the city government to browse through the necessary photographs of their website. Furthermore, the museum will help with the photo files need in high resolution.
According to Francine, the meeting became the start for the Museum to help the Bogor City Government in an effort to trace the old photographs of Bogor.
The other good news is on the visit to the Nationaal Archief, The Hague on Thursday (9/14/2017). Bima and entourage welcomed JC (Johan) Van Langen, Programme Manager Shared Cultural Heritage at the National Archives of the Netherlands. The National Archives has been established since 1811.
At the meeting, the National Archives explained that it holds a large collection of data and information related to the old history of Bogor.
"It may takes a lot of time to be able to trace the history of Bogor as expected by the government of Bogor City. We're here to help, and at the same time, we have a cooperative relationship with ANRI," Van Langen said.
At the meeting the Archives submitted the construction design of Bogor Palace - which was not fully constructed - to Bima.
Mayor Bima expressed his gratitude for the positive response of the National Archives to help the city of Bogor.
He received the honor of visiting the preservation of old documents from the VOC era and colonial era in the basement of the National Archives.
One of the rare collectibles shown is the Bogor colonial river and irrigation map, the old Bogor Palace design following its revision, and the Jabodetabek (Jakarta Bogor Demak Tangerang Bekasi) map by the colonial era.
