Jakarta Department of Transportation to Purchase 67 Operational Vehicles Ahead to Asian Games

Head of Jakarta Department of Transportation Andri Yansyah.

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - In order to support the 2018 Asian Games, Jakarta Transportation Department (Dishub) has planned to purchase 67 operational vehicles next year, with an allocation of IDR35 billion.

Head of Jakarta’s Dishub Andri Yansyah explained that later in the implementation of Asian Games, it is responsible for escorting the athlete from the hotel to the venue of the match and vice versa, so the operational vehicles are required.

"We get the task to escort the Asian Games participants. That's why we budget IDR35 billion for the purchase of operational vehicles, both motor and car," he said, Wednesday (9/13/2017), in Jakarta Parliament Building.

Yansyah said there are at least four venues and 71 hotels used by Asian Games athletes in Jakarta. The athletes must be guarded in order to be on time for the game.

"Their activities are very large, so we budget 67 new operational vehicles to escort," he said.

He added the purchase of operational vehicles is focused on the level of service. The officials at municipal and district levels were asked not to budget for the purchase of new operational vehicles in order to avoid the multiple budgets.

"We have also coordinated with INASGOC for the implementation at the field later," he said.
