Signing MoU, BNPB Teams up with Singapore in Disaster Management

BNPB head signing MoU on disaster risk management with the Singapore.

SINGAPORE, NETRALNEWS.COM - Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Willem Rampangilei signed a memorandum of understanding on disaster risk management cooperation with Singapore Civil Defense Force Commissioner Eric Yap.

The MoU signing was witnessed by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and Prime Minister (PM) of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong at The Istana, the official office of Singapore's Prime Minister on Thursday (9/7/2017).

From the press release by BNPB Head of Information Data Center and Public Relations Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, Friday (8/9/2017), Indonesia and Singapore have Disaster Management Training Center and disaster management curriculum.

"The disaster training center has complete facilities for disaster management profession training. The disaster management center can serve as a reference or learning for disaster prevention professional training centers in other countries," explained Sutopo.

To note, the occasion is the 50-year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Indonesia, which is marked by the Launch of 'Joint Stamp' and 'Commemorative Book Rising 50'. (*)
