JAKARTA, NNC - Simultaneously with the launch of Galaxy A9, Samsung Electronics also unveiled other A-series, Galaxy A7, with the fingerprint scanner design on the right side.
"We provide the latest innovation on our newest smartphone models," Deputy Director Samsung Southeast Asia and Oseania Eugene Goh said at the launch in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
This time, Samsung placed its fingerprint scanner on the right side of the phone's body, no longer on the Home button or on the back of the body. The fingerprint scanner is located under the volume button.
The fingerprint scanner, besides unlocking the phone, also functions as a power button. Once pressed, the scanner will activate the option to turn off the phone.
Another new thing embedded by Samsung on the Galaxy A7 is the layout of a trio camera on its back, with a 24MP primary camera.
The secondary camera is equipped with a 120 degree ultra wide lens, smaller than the main camera, which is 8MP. The tertiary camera is a depth lens.
Samsung also installed a 24MP lens for selfie on the front side.
The color options include blue, pink, gold and classic black, all wrapped in a glossy case, citing Antara.
In Indonesia, the device is retailed at IDR 4,499,000. Pre-order will start Friday, Oct 12, until Oct 19 via Samsung's official website.
