JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM – State-owned energy firm PT Pertamina (Persero) says it has conveyed its interest in participating to work on Masela Block to the block’s operator, Inpex Corporation.
“We are interested in participating. They have not given any answers yet. They need to provide an explanation on the government’s provision in relation to their investment. If they are clear, they will see the valuation,” said Dwi Soetjipto, President Director of Pertamina at Jakarta on Thursday (1/26).
Dwi said Inpex can submit an offering to the government once the project’s valuation is obtained. This will then be brought to the next phase, such as seeking partners.
The government’s provision that the company highlights is the regulation on gross split that was recently set. Dwi said Inpex needs to make many calculations prior to terminating the partnership.
“There are no answers yet. Inpex is still reviewing the investment value that is still being calculated,” he said. (*)
