LONDON, NETRALNEWS.COM  – Indonesian organic and natural products have been displayed at the 2019 Natural & Organic Products Europe (NPE) event held at ExCeL London, England on April 7-8 2019. At this exhibition, Indonesia managed to record potential transactions of US $ 1.5 million.

"Indonesia's participation in the 2019 NPE event is one form of consistency of the Ministry of Trade and the Indonesian Embassy in London to promote and encourage the export of Indonesian organic and natural products to the UK market," said London Trade Attache Nur Rakhman Setyoko.

NPE is an annual exhibition that specifically displays organic and natural organic products such as food and beverages, health products, as well as beauty and care products. This year, the NPE was participated by around 700 participants from 48 countries. During the two days of implementation, the exhibition was visited by around 10,500 people consisting of wholesalers / supermarkets, retailers, importers, exporters, brokers / consultants, spa / fitness center entrepreneurs, nutritionists, and health and beauty producers.

At the 2019 NPE exhibition, Indonesia's participation received support from PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, which presented one of its assisted SMEs.

Nur Rahkman said, during the exhibition, the Indonesian Pavilion was never empty of visitors interested in Indonesian natural and organic products. Visitors to Pavilun come from representatives of distributors / wholesalers, importers, and retailers from the UK and Europe.

"Visitors who attended seemed very enthusiastic about cooperating and exchanging information with exhibitors from Indonesia. "In fact, representatives of companies distributing organic and natural products in the UK praise the products of Indonesian organic coconut sugar which has high quality with fine grains and has been certified organically," Nur Rakhman said in a press release on Friday (04/12/2019).

According to the Annual Report of the Organic Soil Association Market (2019), in 2018 the organic product market in the UK grows by 5.3 percent with a sales value of EU 2.33 billion and is expected to continue to grow to EU 2.5 billion. This growth was triggered by the increased expenditure of the British community in shopping for organic food and beverage products. This is reinforced by the results of the survey of the Organic Trade Board (OTB) with the Kantar World Panel in 2018 which states that 85 percent of households in the UK buy organic food and beverage products and 40 percent of them buy regularly every month.
