JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Over the past year, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) saw an increase in the number of listed companies or issuers by 57 companies, the most since the privatization of the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 1992.

This acquisition was even recorded as the highest acquisition of new issuers in ASEAN last year. As of the end of 2018, a total of 619 listed companies were listed on the IDX.

In 2019, IDX is targeting to exceed its previous achievements, which are as many as 75 new issuers. Meanwhile, various efforts were made by the IDX as a capital market regulator to achieve these targets with adequate and effective efforts and initiatives, including:

Increase company awareness in Indonesia regarding Capital Markets and Go Public, by increasing campaign programs regarding the benefits of Go Public.

IDX also seeks to optimize synergies with various institutions in Indonesia in an effort to provide awareness for companies in Indonesia to conduct Initial Public Offering and can register shares on the IDX.

Institutional cooperation is carried out in stages and continuously so that it can facilitate companies in Indonesia to fund through the capital market.
 
The Exchange seeks to hold discussions and provide awareness to business owners in Indonesia to introduce funding through the capital market. This activity will be carried out with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Capital Market Supporting Professional Institutions.

Not only through external approaches, IDX also invites all SRO employees to be able to participate in the success of the New Listing 75 IDX target in 2019, through internal connections owned by the Exchange staff who have the potential to seek funding through the capital market.

As for a number of initiatives that have been carried out by the IDX since 2018 and future projections in the development of infrastructure and regulations, including:

Adjustment of regulations in the form of Amendment to Regulation Number I-A concerning Listing of Shares and Equity-Based Securities other than Shares Issued by the Listed Company, which have been implemented at the end of 2018.

Regulation I-A.1 Registration of Mineral-Equity Equity Securities. The IDX outlines the direction of the change in the concept of Regulation Number I-A to be able to facilitate the Company to be able to list its shares on the Exchange, which will be implemented in 2019.

Development of regulations in the form of drafting the Acceleration Board Regulations and Record Regulations for Special Industries (Plantation, Oil and Gas, and Renewable Energy), which will be implemented in 2019.

Development of a trading system in the form of special notation as a form of protection for investors. Investors can easily see some significant information related to the Listed Company before making an investment decision, this system has been applied at the end of 2018.
