JAKARTA, NNC - The National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) of this year will be presented again with the theme 'Shopping for the Nation'. The regular festival will be held on December 11-12.
The Chairperson of the 2018 Harbolnas Committee Indra Yonathan explained that he targeted the transaction value of up to IDR7 trillion, an increase by almost double compared to last year.
"The 2018 Harbolnas sporting the theme 'Shopping for the Nation' aims to increase the value of local products on e-commerce platforms. We e-commerce players want to embrace local product producers to be able to feel the excitement of Harbolnas this year," Yonathan said on Wednesday (11/14/2018).
According to the man who also served as Country Head of ShopBack Indonesia, the organization of 2018 Harbolnas received support from the government through three ministries, namely the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry, and the Ministry of Communication and Informatics as well as the Indonesian e-Commerce Association (IDEA).
"We also have a mutual cooperation spirit both from e-commerce actors, local producers and the Indonesian people to raise the value of local products by buying and using them," he said.
With the tremendous growth of e-commerce and currently in the top three investment positions in Indonesia, after the oil and gas mining industry--according to research conducted by Google, AT Kearney & Amvesindo in 2017--it must be accompanied with attention to consumer protection.
