JAKARTA, NNC -- The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) and Upstream Oil and Gas Executive Task Force (SKK Migas) work together to build energy security through the security synergy of national strategic industries. The MMAF and SKK Migas have coordinated the preparation of the Coastal and Small Islands Zoning Plans or commonly abbreviated as RZWP3K.
With the collaboration in the preparation of the RZWP3K, it is hoped that a positive synergy between activities from the fisheries and marine sector with the upstream oil and gas sector will be created.
To strengthen the cooperation between MMAF and SKK Migas, on this occasion the Minister of Maritime Affairs Susi Pudjiastuti together with the Head of SKK Migas Amien Sunaryadi signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The MoU signing was carried out on the sidelines of the 2018 Security Summit activities organized by the SKK Migas.
The scope of this MoU includes a joint study of the technical aspects of the utilization of decommissioned offshore production facilities, synchronization of plans for marine space zoning, and synchronization of social responsibility programs for upstream oil and gas business activities with community development programs.
"The signing of the MoU is indeed normal for government agencies to work together. In order for [cooperation] to have a frame, we make this MoU," Susi said in a release in Jakarta on Saturday (10/20/2018).
She hopes that the cooperation between MMAF and SKK Migas on the agreed scope can continue to grow, because according to her the two agencies have many interconnected fields, for example related to the supply of fuel oil to support fishing activities.
"For example the fuel subsidy for fishermen, operations of outsource as well as oil which is carried out by SKK Migas which is related to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries," she said.
As a form of support for the upstream oil and gas sector to the fisheries and maritime sector, SKK Migas together with the Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) together with the signing of this MoU provided support for the Fishermen's Community Development Program in the form of assistance at the beginning of 15 units of 3 GT-sized vessels. Furthermore, the ship will be handed over to fishermen of disaster victims in Palu, Donggala and Lombok.
