Citi Indonesia Receives “Digital Banking Initiative of the Year-Indonesia” at Asian Banking and Finance Awards 2018

JAKARTA, NNC - Citi Indonesia (Citibank) once again received international recognition, this time as "Digital Banking Initiative of the Year-Indonesia" from Asian Banking and Finance at Asian Banking and Finance Retail Banking Awards 2018.  

Entering its 13th year, the Asian Banking and Finance Retail Banking Awards aims to recognize banks from nearly 40 countries in Asia that stand out with groundbreaking products and services, despite the various challenges the banking sector is facing.  

This year’s nominations were judged by representatives from the Big Four accounting firms: Mohit Mehrotra, strategy consulting co-leader at Deloitte Asia Pacific; Liew Nam Soon, ASEAN managing partner at Ernst and Young; Egidio Zarrella, ASPAC head of banking and capital markets at KPMG; and Andrew Taggart, partner, financial services leader at PwC Southeast Asia Consulting. 

“This award reflects our commitment and hard work as a trusted bank in Asia, especially in Indonesia. With this achievement, we will continue to reinforce our position as a global bank that emphasizes on digitalization, by continuously introducing the next-generation banking services and products, which are increasingly demanded by our customers,” said Citi Indonesia CEO Batara Sianturi in Jakarta, Thursday (8/9/2018).  

“We are glad that our consistency in advancing mobile banking capabilities has been recognized by a well-known publication such as Asian Banking and Finance. Through the Citi Mobile application, customers can enjoy the benefits and convenience of performing everyday banking transactions, which previously can only be done through branches, phone banking or online banking,” added Citi Indonesia Head of Consumer Banking Cristina Teh Tan. 

Citi Indonesia also received similar awards in 2018, when the bank was named as Best International Bank in Indonesia for three consecutive years from Finance Asia, Best Bank-Global in Indonesia, Best Digital Bank in Indonesia, Best Retail Mobile Banking Experience from the Asset, as well as Innovative Company in Digital Services in the category of Foreign Bank from Warta Ekonomi. All of these were awarded to Citi for its hard work in developing and optimizing digitization to customers.
