Govt Admits Still Struggling in Dealing with Development Gap.

JAKARTA, NNC - Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Bambang Brodjonegoro revealed that the government is still struggling to overcome the problem of development gap in Indonesian territory. According to him, currently the government still concentrates on minimizing the regional development gap.

"I am sure some of the development partners in this room have the attention and support to this government agenda," Bambang said when attending the Indonesia Development Forum event in Jakarta, Wednesday (7/11/2018).

Bambang added that his party keeps coordinating with relevant stakeholders from central government, local government, academia, business people, to civil society who will exchange ideas to provide solutions related to inequality problems.

"Exchanging ideas and experiences to provide concrete solutions based on knowledge, experience, and facts," said Bambang.

According to Bappenas data in the last two decades, during the period economic growth was concentrated in Java contributing almost 58 percent to GDP. In addition, this year IDF will be a useful strategic issue for the formulation of the 2020-2024 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) document.

"This whole idea will be a valuable input for the government in the concept of policy formulation to overcome intra-regional disparities, especially in the formulation of the RPJMN [document]," he said.
