JCI Rises 1.54 Percent This Week

JAKARTA, NNC - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) in the period of April 9-13, 2018 posted a gain of 1.54 percent to 6,270.32 points from the level of 6,175.05 points at the trading closed on the previous weekend. In line with the JCI, the market capitalization of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the same period rose 1.59 percent to IDR6,979.66 trillion from IDR6,870.15 trillion.

IDX Corporate Communications Division, in a written statement delivered Saturday (4/14/2018) explained the average value of daily transactions of shares in the IDX over the past week also went up 16.55 percent to IDR6.90 trillion from IDR5.092 trillion a week earlier.

The average daily transaction volume of shares on the IDX this week also rose 12.89 percent to 9.28 billion units of shares from 8.22 billion units a week earlier. The average daily transaction frequency of shares on the IDX this week also rose 8.24 percent to 383.71 thousand transactions from 354.48 thousand transactions in the previous week.

JCI's positive trend is in line with the decision of global rating firm, Moody's Investors Service, which raised Indonesia's debt rating. However, foreign investors recorded a net selling worth IDR1.59 trillion during this week. As a result, the accumulated net selling value of foreign investors this year has reached IDR26.48 trillion.

As many as two companies listed their shares this week, i.e., PT Gihon Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (GHON) listed as the 6th issuer of this year or 571st in IDX and PT Tridomain Performance Materials Tbk (TDPM) as the 7th issuer in this year or 572nd on IDX.

In addition, there were also three corporate bonds this week. The first bond listing was WOM Finance Sustainable Bond II Phase IV Year 2018 with nominal value of IDR793 billion, Federal International Finance Sustainable Bond III with nominal value of IDR3 trillion and Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Sustainable Bond III Phase III with a nominal value of IDR1 trillion.

Thus, total bond and sukuk issuances already recorded during 2018 are 20 issuances from 18 issuers valued at IDR34.86 trillion. Meanwhile, total issuance of bonds and sukuk listed on IDX amounted to 353 issuances with total nominal outstanding of IDR399.47 trillion and US$47.5 million by 113 issuers.
