JCI Edges Down 0.25 Percent at Trade Closing

JAKARTA, NNC – Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) edged down 16.27 points (-0.25 percent) to a level of 6,370.05 at the close of stock trading weekend, Friday (1/12/2018). A total of 149 stocks rose, 199 stocks fell, and 132 other shares did not change in price.

Throughout today, the composite index moved in a range of 6,359 to 6,402.

Trading volume reached 14.3 billion shares, transaction frequency of 320,553 times, and trade value of about IDR7.1 trillion. Foreign investors recorded net buy amount of IDR328.3 billion.

The most widely purchased stocks include Bank Mandiri (BMRI), Adaro Energy (ADRO) and Bank Central Asia (BBCA).

Most of the sectoral indices of stocks were pressured unless the mining sector rose 0.85 percent and the consumer goods stocks sector climbed 0.22 percent.

The agribusiness sector fell 0.86 percent, and posted the biggest decline. Followed by various industrial sectors shrinking 0.83 percent and infrastructure sector shares slipped 0.74 percent.
