JAKARTA, NNC – The increasing influence of technology and the desire to travel around the world are some of the factors that add to the growing market opportunities of young Muslim tourists to reach a value of United States (US) $100 billion.
The 2017 Mastercard-Halal Trip Muslim Millenial Travel Report (MMTR2017) reports on the importance of developing the next generation of Muslim tourists to the tourism sector worldwide.
The study estimates the total spending of Muslim millennial tourists will surpass $100 billion by 2025, while the overall Muslim travel segment is expected to touch $300 billion by 2026.
MMTR2017 is the first comprehensive report to undertake research on the rise of millennial Muslim tourists worldwide. The report aims to evaluate the potential of the millennial Muslim market for tourist destinations, tour operators, airlines and the tourism and hospitality industries.
Fazal Bahardeen, CEO of Crescent Rating & Halal Trip, said the MMTR2017 report provides insights into the rapidly growing millennial Muslim tourist market, as well as the opportunities presented by global trends.
"There is no doubt that all sides in the tourism sector should pay more attention to this market of Muslim millennial tourists who can encourage spending on airline tickets, hotels and excursions," Fazal said some time ago.
According to him, the Muslim tourist market is experiencing rapid growth as a highly profitable segment for contemporary tourism where they will also enter the peak phase of their income, expenses and travel within the next five to ten years.
Fazl adds, the growth of this growing young market segment of Muslims demonstrates a huge potential for international markets engaged in Muslim-friendly products and services.
