JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - A total of 5,700 automated teller machines (ATMs) and several cash offices belonging to PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA.JK) or BCA have been operating normally after repairs due to Telkom 1 satellite disruption.
BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja said as the entire network has been recovered the free tariff policy for BCA customers to withdraw cash through other banks' ATMs is no longer valid after September 11, 2017.
"The exemption of administrative fees for cash withdrawal transactions at other banks' ATMs is only valid until September 11, 2017," Jahja said, Tuesday (9/12/2017).
Jahja apologized for customers' inconvenience during interruption and while the recovery process is still ongoing.
"BCA is also grateful for the alertness of all telecommunication service provider partners so that the recovery process of ATM network connectivity can run smoothly and unhindered," he said.
Some banking networks cannot operate after Telkom 1 satellite has been disrupted. Due to the anomaly, 5,700 ATMs and 126 cash offices of BCA were unable to operate.
In the recovery process, BCA prepares a compensation scheme for customers by replacing cash withdrawal fees if they withdraw cash from a BCA account through another bank's ATM.
The fee of ATM cash withdrawal replaced by BCA is directly credited to the customer's account at the end of the month. (*)
